The Venue
About
21 Shepherd is a warehouse-style rehearsal and event venue and the home of contemporary theatre company The Living Room Theatre.
Operated by The Living Room Theatre, an independent contemporary company, the space supports the creation of visceral performance works engaging with trauma, violence, memory, and the female body.
What a studio is to a painter, 21 Shepherd is to performative research.
The space offers continuity and stability for experimentation, courage, and care. Work does not need to be packed away; it can remain in motion—evolving, shifting, and deepening over time. 21 Shepherd exists to support risk, depth, and sustained inquiry.
Purpose-designed for dance, theatre, and music-making, the venue comprises three distinct studio spaces, each supporting a different mode of artistic practice and united by a shared commitment to care, attention, and artistic risk.
Together, the spaces support rehearsals, workshops, classes, talks, forums, informal showings, and private or commercial events, and can transform to host gatherings of up to 100 seated.
