LRT backs artists making original, contemporary performance, music, dance and theatre, the kind of work that struggles to find a home anywhere else. 21 Shepherd is where that happens: an artist-led venue where new work gets developed, tested and put in front of an audience.
Spaces like this are closing everywhere. When they go, a community loses the room where artists and audiences actually meet, and where anyone can afford to take a creative risk.
Donations keep this one open. Every gift funds artists directly and keeps the building running.
All donations are 100% tax deductible and directly support independent Australian artists.
The Living Room Theatre is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and endorsed as a deductible gift recipient (DGR 1).

Corporate Shepherds help make great art possible. With annual support from $5,000, businesses gain unique cultural experiences for staff and clients while directly supporting artists, new creative work, and the ongoing sustainability of our venue.

The Flock, from $21 a month. The community around the work. Flock members cover the basics: rehearsal time, stipends, and the daily running of the building. You’ll be named on our website, get The Flock Letter from inside the building, and join us at the annual supporter night.
The Roost, from $84 a month. Roost members fund the programs at the heart of what we do: Birds of a Feather, the experimental music series and our youth workshops. Come to showings, meet the artists you support, and see where your money went in a yearly report.
The Shepherds, gifts of $5,000 and above. Shepherds fund new commissions, look after the building, and make our most ambitious work possible.
