The Studio Deaths

is a series of short studio works currently in development exploring the physical, ethical and emotional responses to death.

The first in the series ‘Anastasia – Heat’ explores the life of an elderly woman, living on her own, who dies from heat exhaustion.

There is no linear narrative, but is constructed from physical and visual images, snatches of recordings of my mother. I am exploring the fusion of image, voice and sound and what it is to die alone.

We come to understand the story as it unravels slowly as the viewer piece together the scraps of information meted out to through images and words.
