Juliet's Balcony

Step into a vast mid-century furniture warehouse — a landscape of form and memory, filled with weathered lounges, sculptural timber, and Laura Altman’s curious arrangement of pots and pans. Amongst these objects, I, riff through the space, performing text from my back catalogue — 25 years of work, laid bare. A visceral gesture of trauma and resistance.

Around me, the soundscape swells: Jim Denley, Daniel Raymond, and Alex Tucker conjure sonic spells that ripple through the room, while members of the LRT family wait patiently, holding placards that read Stop Killing Women. We carry these words not as protest, but as invocation — grief turned into action.

This is no ordinary night. It is a reckoning, a celebration, a call to stay with the trouble. Bring your sign. Bring your body. Be part of the ritual.

The Living Room Theatre pushes boundaries and transforms environments to challenge systemic attitudes towards violence and trauma. Our message provokes thought and inspires change through a unique artistic expression.

We value the impact and logic of the non-linear and multi-sensory. The heartbeat of The Living Room Theatre.
