Phillippa Murphy-Haste, Paul Cutlan and Mary Rapp join forces to bring you a night of improvised music in duo and trio combinationsnight of improvised music in duo and trio combinations. Paul and Phillippa have played under the moniker ‘Alterity’ since 2019, with their debut performance described as feeling like a “sacred space” (Peter Nelson, Eastside FM).

They weave between improvisation and make references to some of their favourite compositions along the way. The ever-intriguing and powerful cellist Mary Rapp and expert clarinets-specialist and sometimes violist Phillippa Murphy-Haste debut as a duo in this performance, and the night ends with all three musicians exploring the trio format in an exciting finale to the evening.
