Gill / Spence / Nilsson (AUS/SWE)
Sam Gill (saxophones), Alister Spence (piano & preparations) and Peter Nilsson (drums & percussion) come together for their second public performance as a trio. Since Nilsson’s move to Sydney in 2025, the group has been developing a shared musical language through duo and trio collaborations.

Working within freely improvised music, their sound shifts fluidly between lyricism, detailed textural exploration, and moments of rhythmic density. Their approach is highly responsive and conversational, drawing on each musician’s distinct voice to shape music in real time.

Hill / Hall / Raymond / Wishart
Gabriella Hill (tenor saxophone), Louis Wishart (trumpet), Henry Hall (double bass) and Daniel Raymond (drums) present original compositions embedded within a collective improvisational framework.

Their written material references musical tradition while remaining open and flexible, allowing each piece to transform through live interaction. Hill and Wishart expand the possibilities of a tenor–trumpet pairing, while Hall and Raymond move between conventional rhythmic roles and more personal, exploratory approaches.

This performance marks the group’s third outing together, continuing their exploration of structure, freedom and ensemble interplay.
