Chaos Collective – Seeing Red
Chaos Collective presents a bold new program of original works that push improvisation into unfamiliar territory. Combining live electronics, experimental compositional techniques and a work built around a visual score, the ensemble explores new approaches to musical interaction, form and texture.
The performance will feature two compositions by Ben Lopes, Seeing Red and Microscapes, alongside Maddy Briggs’ electric toothbrush guitar. Bringing together live electronics, a visual score and an expansive palette of unexpected sounds, the ensemble will explore new approaches to texture, structure and musical interaction.
Expect a charged and unpredictable performance, where sounds are stretched, fractured and transformed in real time. Uncompromising in its experimentation but immediate in its impact, the program offers an exhilarating encounter with music at its most inventive and unpredictable.
Chaos Collective:
Chaos Collective is a Sydney-based experimental music ensemble exploring collective improvisation, spontaneous composition and sonic experimentation. Drawing on diverse musical backgrounds, the group creates unpredictable performances that blur the boundaries between contemporary classical, noise and experimental sound. Through extended instrumental techniques, unconventional textures and spontaneous musical dialogue, Chaos Collective moves between delicate restraint and visceral intensity. Embracing collaboration, the ensemble regularly invites guest artists to expand its sonic possibilities. Rejecting convention and embracing the unexpected, Chaos Collective transforms each performance into an unrepeatable sonic experience, where risk, spontaneity and collective intuition collide.

Come and misbehave.
Art isn’t comfortable
here — and neither,
probably, are you.
That’s exactly the point.
