21 Shepherd St

In partnership with The Music Box Project

To conclude their residency at 21 Shepherd, Austrian performer/composer Anna Koch and Australian composer/performer Elizabeth Jigalin present a suite of playful inquiries into sound, joined by members of the music box project Naomi Johnson and Peter Leung.

Since meeting as part of the music box project’s inaugural Cut Paste Play festival, Anna and Elizabeth have continued to explore music together. This event brings together an array of work and ideas the duo have developed through residencies and performances in Austria (2024) and across New South Wales (2025-2026) on the lands of the Ngunnawal, Worrimi and Gadigal people,

Please note: kids are free to attend!

ana & lis is an experimental duo and international collaboration between Austrian performer/composer Anna Koch and Australian composer/performer Elizabeth Jigalin. Through sonic dialogue and play they explore the sounds of places, spaces, instruments and objects. Besides numerous live presentations at different venues, parks, beaches and rivers, the duo has an increasing portfolio of works combining field recordings, all sorts of instruments and video.

This project is supported through The Living Room Theatre’s Open Room Residency Program, providing artists with time, space, and mentorship to develop independent and experimental performance work at 21 Shepherd Street, Marrickville.
