In Flux
A new and distinctive improvising duo, In Flux brings together two outstanding Australian artists in a long-form, evolving musical dialogue. Their performances unfold as a continuous, organic process, where a gentle improvisational exchange emerges between performers, instruments, and audience.
Combining accordion with contemporary technologies—electronics, computer software, sampling, and sound objects—they create a rich and deeply communicative sonic landscape. An In Flux performance becomes a feedback loop: a constant ebb and flow of energy and expression shared between audience and artists.
“We make the music as the music makes us.”
— Gary Daley
Opening Set: Alexis Weaver
Electronic artist Alexis Weaver opens the evening with a meditative set inspired by her recent residency at Glebe’s Local Edition. Drawing on recordings of homewares and ceramic objects, she crafts a lush, hypnotic sound world—undulating and slightly off-kilter, like a boat caught in a wake.
