Case for Support: The Living Room Theatre

Support The Living Room Theatre: Keep Independent Stories Alive

For 25 years, The Living Room Theatre has been a space for fearless storytelling—bringing urgent, visceral, and necessary works to life. We champion the unheard, the unseen, and the stories that challenge how we listen.

A thriving arts sector allows freedom of expression and nurtures artistic curiosity. Independent arts organisations provide space to provoke, disrupt, and reappraise false narratives and society’s complacency.

Unlike major institutions, we receive no recurrent government funding, ensuring our independence in shaping Australian stories—who tells them and who gets to be heard. Your support allows us to continue creating ground-breaking performances that blur the boundaries between theatre, architecture, and lived experience.

With your donation, you help sustain a space where artists take risks, where voices are amplified, and where audiences engage with art that refuses silence.

Tax-deductible donations can be made to the Australian Cultural Fund, or Building Fund, and be part of the future of independent performance.

If you would like to discuss a potential donation in person or by phone, please email the Deputy Chair, Jonathan Casson at: info@livingroomtheatre.org
