Celebrate South King: The Living Room Theatre’s Tribute to Pina Bausch
As part of the Celebrate South King activations, The Living Room Theatre is thrilled to present a tribute to the iconic work of Pina Bausch, focusing on the Nelken Line featuring The Season’s March. This event aims to transform South King Street into a vibrant hub of community and culture, inviting movement artists and local residents to participate in a leisurely celebration of life.
Concept
The Nelken Line, originally performed by Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal, features a line of women in 1930s silk slips, performing gestures that capture the essence of each season. This performance blends whimsy and profundity, reflecting the precinct’s quirky characters and vibrant atmosphere.
In alignment with Celebrate South King St’s mission to showcase the precinct’s unique charm, The South King March will reinterpret Bausch’s This Season’s March, allowing the community to engage in an artistic expression that highlights the beauty of local connections and the changing seasons.
